Empowering Chemistry with Biology

RESEARCH
Solving emerging medicinal problems with organic chemistry empowered by the selectivity of biology, taking inspiration from natural product chemistry.

Biocatalyst Development for Natural Product Synthesis
We embark on enzyme engineering for late-stage chemistry as well as artificial metalloenzyme development to enable challenging natural product synthesis.

Bioorthogonal Chemistry for Drug Delivery
Creation of biocatalytic platform for selective drug delivery leveraging bio-orthogonal chemistry and protein delivery vehicles.
In addition, we put our synthetic expertise to medicinal chemistry and pharmacological collaborations.

Niche natural product chemistry
We explore niche microbiomes for novel natural products with much needed bioactivities. This is a perfect project for undergraduate students to participate.
We have two tracks for undergraduate research.
Track 1:
Multi-year involvement to accomplish substantial research in a project of your own. Please contact us for undergrad lab handbook, but first take a look at the requirements here.
Track 2:
You only have a semester or two to work with us to assist others with their projects.
